Global Soil Partnership

FAO Global Soil Partnership

The Global Soil Partnership was founded in 2013 in the framework of the FAO (Food and Agriculture
Organisation of the UN). Their pillars of action are soil management, awareness raising, research,
information and data as well as international harmonisation. More than 200 organisations are partners in
the Global Soil Partnership. An important accomplishment is the proclamation of the International Year of
Soils in 2015.

FAO European Soil Partnership

The European Soil Partnership is a sub-group of the Global Soil Partnership.

FAO Mountain Partnership Secretariat

The Mountain Partnership Secretariat is located in the FAO. The aim is to raise awareness globally about
the importance of mountains and to advocate for increased political attention to sustainable mountain
development and the well being of mountain people.
